OUR HISTORY

From Family Foundry to Global Foundry Engineering Expertise

Founded in 1954 by Georg Philippi as an iron foundry in Germany’s Westerwald region, the company developed over three generations into a specialist in foundry engineering, aluminium casting, wheel development and automotive wheel manufacturing.

Under the leadership of Heinz-Georg Philippi, the business shifted toward aluminium components for the engineering and automotive sectors. In 1985, Jürgen Philippi entered the family business and later gained extensive international experience in wheel and rim manufacturing.

Since 2007, the company has focused on global foundry consulting, foundry process optimization, aluminium wheel engineering and industrial manufacturing solutions.

The Foundation of Global Foundry Engineering GmbH

In 2012, a new chapter began when Jürgen Philippi founded Global Foundry Engineering GmbH after Heinz-Georg Philippi’s retirement.

With an academic background and more than 25 years of international experience in wheel manufacturing, foundry engineering, aluminium casting and rim technology, he built GFE into a specialized consulting and engineering company for the global automotive wheel industry.

Today, GFE combines three generations of foundry knowledge with advanced technology, delivering tailored foundry consulting, wheel engineering, aluminium manufacturing solutions and worldwide technical support for OEMs, aftermarket wheel manufacturers, foundries and industrial partners.
